Sixteen

Do young people have any power?

Sixteen is a participation project for young people by Toot.

Exploring rules, the law and what you really can and can't do before you grow up.

Sixteen weaves together facts, hearsay, legal jargon and love songs to create a performance collage with writers including Jayden, aged 8 (and several of his classmates), Alanis Morisette, a child psychologist, William Shakespeare, and many more.

Created alongside over 100 young people across London and Salford, with Professor Micheal Thomas, cogntitive neuroscientist at Birkbeck, University of London, Dr Ben Jeffes, a child behavioural psychologist and counsellor Rachel Turner, Sixteen examines decision making and risk taking in young people from a breadth of perspectives.
